SkyReed

A wind turbine that doesn’t spin.

It swings.

It had to be seen to be discussed

TCG · dimensioned general arrangement, 25 m variant · 23 February 2026 — 25.0 m overall · asymmetric arms at 9.5 and 19.0 m · counter-phase sweeps of 75° and 55° · Ø5.0 m yaw base

First, make the machine visible.

Four steps, six days — the crude version went first, on purpose,
while changing it was still cheap. He replied the same night: “I see and it is basicly very good.”

01 His principle

02 Every ratio named

03 The machine as an object

04 Does it move?

The process

One idea, tested against reality twice.

Phase one

25 metres, on land.

01 The two rules the machine runs on

No rotor. The whole mast swings from a pivot at its foot, and at each end of the stroke the blade turns through 180° so its thick nose always leads the direction of travel. Both rules had to be true before anything was made beautiful.

01 · SWING
The whole mast swings from a pivot at its foot. An inverted pendulum, not a rotor.

02 · PITCH

The blade in section, seen from above. At each end of the stroke it turns through 180°, so the thick nose always leads the direction of travel.

02 Then put it somewhere

In a field, at 25 m — the first time the machine had a horizon

An IKEA Israel car park at street-light height — briefed and delivered inside one afternoon, used in the pitch that week

Phase TWO

170 metres, at sea.

03 The correction — the blade was not the thing that moved

31 July · the blade tilts, the mast stands still

2 August · mast and blade are one rigid body, swinging from a four-metre pipe at the deck

04 The platform — changed completely, seven minutes after it was specified

“Forget the large square barge” · top view · 29 July 2026

Spine and outriggers · front view · 29 July 2026

Built — matte carbon truss against brushed titanium, pipes that thin as they rise

05 The blade — it had to explain itself twice

01 · The surface

02 · The section, against two reference airfoils · pivot at 30% chord

03 · Spars and ribs

04 · Resolved — a model built to be diagrammed, not rendered

One platform was solved completely.
Then it was instanced seven times.

Masts per platform

Spacing

Clearance

Cycle

He didn’t need a film. He needed a way to talk about the machine

One platform · seamless loop · four masts running a quarter-cycle apart

Seven platforms · seamless loop · each copy started from a different point in its cycle, so the array never swings as a block

The machine had to enter rooms before it could enter the world.

“Everything is absolutely excellent. The presentation is fully ready and looks great.”
